Reflection of this week
This has been an awesome week. I feel that we have learned sooo much about the technology we have been using. For example, gmail, blogging, podcasting, downloading images, youtubes, Google Reader, Docs/presentations/spreadsheets, and wikis. I didn't even know that Google had all of these capabilities! It seems obvious what type of search engine everyone should be using, duh! There are so many applications to what we have been learning. The only concern I have is that I need to make sure to use it consistently now so that I do not forget how to use all of it before school begins.

Google docs, presentations, spreadsheets
I really feel that this is going to be beneficial to our classroom settings, let alone for personal use! Being able to pull up a document that has been worked on anywhere you are and view it, edit it, have others edit it, etc. is going to be a wonderful capability.
I am very excited about learning how to download video into a presentation!! I have known how to do presentations for quite some time, but video was something that I was not familiar with... so I am pretty excited to use this new found knowledge!!
The different forms in spreadsheet seem like they will cut down on worktime that is usually taken working on creating things for students. And these are all tools that can be used by teachers and students. :)

Benefits and Apprehensions to Blogging
I think that blogging presents a great opportunity to get students more interested in their writing. It will be able to be used to do journal writing, e-pals from our town or even other countries (exciting!), and lots of other uses.
Some concerns I have had are that others will be able to see what the students are saying. This is a concern when you cannot predict what the students will say. I do look forward to hearing about the blog that is just within your own class... although it sounded like a neat thing to have parents, classmates, and community members be able to comment are their writing. I just keep going back and forth between the positives and negatives of an open blogging site.

Trouble with Odiogo
I am having trouble being able to get the odiogo site to allow me to sign on. It says that I don't have enough info on my blog. Maybe this will help.... we'll see!!
This Week
This week is crazy! There is something every night of the week. My nephew played baseball last night, tonight, and Thursday night. I play softball tonight for my coed team after his game. Then Wednesday evening I help coach my other nephew's T-ball game. Finally, on Friday I play a double header for my women's softball team. I know it is going to be hectic, but it will be fun!
